Those who are big fan of IPL would now be very happy after an announcement made by the IPL Chief Lalit Modi at a press conference. The Indian Premier LEAGUE (IPL) will now become a global event. This was happened first time in the history of sports that the live telecast of any sport tournament will be seen by the people around the world on their computers online.
On Wednesday, IPL chief Lalit Modi declared tie-up between IPL and Google for to years. According to this tie-up Google wii have the exclusive rights to live broadcast all the IPL matches commencing from 12th March,2010 and other contents of IPL.
Now all the 60 matches of IPL in the third session can be seen live on Youtube. IPL chief Lalit Modi also declared at a press conference that, according to this agreement, Google and IPL will have equal right on any revenue earned from the sponsorship and advertisements on www.youtube.com/ipl. Modi also revealed that there will five minutes gap between the TV broadcast and the live telecast on youtube in India. He also said that this partnership will factualise the aim of taking IPL globally.
The IPL Chairman and Commissioner appreciates this bonding as it will enable people to freely watch the tournament around the world from anywhere just with help of computer and internet connection. He also said that it is the first time any sporting organisation taking such step.This will also inspire the other sporting organisation in the world.
Normally the TV producers decide the angles of view. The consumers don’t have the facility to watch the match according to their angles. But Google will enable them to watch on-field actions according to their own angles by using multiple feeds.
So this is how IPL is going to have revolution.
