The very well known electronic and consumer durable goods company is now planning to step into the mobile phone handset market.The company is going to introduce 5 new models of mobile handset in the Indian market within the coming next two months.
In Mumbai Videocon Mobile Phone Division’s Chief Operating Officer Rahul Goel said that this is their first step in the mobile handset market and target is to set themselves among the top three companies selling mobile handsets in India.For this they are trying to grab a double-digit share in the market.He also said that they are going to introduce 15 new models of mobile handset in the following two months.
Today, 12 existing models of mobile handset of Videocon are already in the market.To sell its products Videocon has signed a partnership deed with Planet M outlets. The price of Videocon mobile phone ranges between Rs.1600 and Rs.18500. According to Goel recently the number of mobile phone subscribers in India is over 400 million and per month there is an increment of 10 million new suscribers.He said that such increase in mobile phone users induces the company’s production to a great extent.
Goel also added that their aim is to increase the hanset sale of the company.For this they are launching new models and they will also set strong relationship with channel partners and operators to achieve their aim. Videocon is a world class company with a total capital of 20,000 crores.The company mainly deals in TV, refrigerator and washing machine space and is among the leading companies dealing these products.
The company holds the market for its products at an international level.The company holds a good share of market for its products in the countries like Europe, West Asia, Latin America, Nigeria and Indonesia.
