Haldiram Prabhuji’s owner proved guilty in an attempt to murder case

A tea staller of Kolkata, Pramod Sharma today said to reprter of IANS that justice can be delayed but can not be denied. Pramod almost met with the death five years back when the owner of Haldiram Confectionaries, Prabhu Shankar Agarwal gave a contract to a killer to kill Pramod.

Pramod is 26 years old and owns a tea stall at burrabazar in Kolkata. He is very happy today when a local court of Kolkata gave life sentence to Prabhu Shankar Agarwal and his four companions for this murder attempt. Pramod said that he has left everything to the God and in this battle God was always with him.

Agarwal is owner of a business empire worth over Rs. 500 crores. He owns two multi-storyed buildings at 7 and 9, Jugmohan Mullick Lane which is in the midst of burrabazar, the main business area of the city. The famous dealer of bhujia wanted to establish a multistoried food mall beside the two above-mentioned outlets. But Pramod Sharma’s tea stall is situated at the entrance of the proposed food mall. It became a hindrance for Agarwal’s food mall.

Pramod told to IANS that Agarwal forced him to remove the tea stall but he was not ready to do so. As said by him this tea stall was set up by his grandmother and his entire family was earning its livelihood from the tea stall. Pramod said that he looks at the tea stall as his mother and he can’t sell it.

On February 12, 2005, Agarwal’s contracted goons demolished the tea stall. They were in disguise. Pramod’s uncle Satyanarayan Thakur tried to stop them but they badly beated him also. Satyanarayan also lives on the tea stall’s earnings.

As told by Satyanarayan Thakur, he was offered Rs. 4,00,000 but he didn’t accept the offer. He also said that he had been threatened by a local criminal, Gopal Tiwari. He was warned that if he would not accept Agarwal’s offer it would result into his death.

Satyanarayan added that three days later Tiwari and his four companions appeared in front of the tea stall and immediately started firing on him. In that firing Pramod got hurt at his left leg. He was hospitlised immediately. Today 65 years old Stayanarayan is very satisfied with the court’s judgement.

According to Pramod he was hit at his left thigh. Though he got operated and the bullet was took out by the doctors today also he feels the pain in his leg after walking a few meters and he is almost unable to run.

Pramod feels very satisfied today and said that though he got the justice five years later but at last he got success and saved his shop. He also said that his shop running well today. But he is afraid too that Agarwal might try to take the revenge from him.
