Ishqiya, the Directorial debut of Abhishek Chaubey

Ishqiya has released on 29th January, 2010. It is a debutant venture of Abhishek Chaubey as a director. The film has been produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and Raman Maroo.

Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Anupama Kumar will be seen in the lead roles. The Pakistani actor Salman Shahid, who was seen last time in Kabul Express, will also be seen as one of the main character of the film.

Vidya Balan is playing the role of a 30 years old widow, Krishna Verma, who is very mysterious by nature, but also very desperate for love and sex at the same time. She is also is quite determined to take revenge.

Naseeruddin Shah will be seen playing Khalujan or Khalu who is a 51 years old thug. Though he is very old by age but possesses a very young and romantic heart and happens to fall in love with Krishna.

Arshad Warsi plays the role of Babban Hussain. He is a 32 years old thief and nephew of Khalu. Babban is lustful by nature and also loves Krishna.

Salman Shahid will be seen as a don, Mushtaq Bhai. He is jiju of Babban and owns a soft heart.

The story starts when Khalu and Babban try to run away with Rs. 25 lakh of Mushtaq Bhai and reaches at the door step of Krishna in Gorakhpur. There they pretend themselves as very good friends of her deceased husband. But Mushtaq finds them and reaches at Krishna’s place. He warns Khalu and Babban that either they return his money or they will meet death. Here comes the main twist of the movie, when induced by Krishna, Khalu and Babban plan to kidnap a mill owner for getting money. In the mean time Krishna flirts with both Khalu and Babban and gets success also. Khalu happens to fall in love with her but Babban only gets physically attached with her. Thus the lady gives both the men what they want. The two are completely unaware of the actual agenda that Krishna has in her mind. She is planning to use the crooks for taking her own revenge. Khalu nad Babban gets shocked when they come to the real motive of Krishna.

The complete plot of story the movie is constucted on whether Krishna’s love for Khalu and Babban is true? Will Krishna get success in taking her revenge? What will happenĀ  to the three? The intense emotions of all the characters will really move the audience.

All the actors including the small actors gave excellent performance in the movie. Vidya Balan has proved once again that she is really a very talented actress. Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah have done a superb job.

The film depicting the environment of North Indian villages also conveys small but important political and social messages.

The movie is full of adult jokes and double meaning dialogues that will make the audience laugh. Conclusively the film deserves to be watched but one need to carry his/her age proof to watch the movie.klm
